- Rotational Motion Apparatus with String and Level
- Super Pulley
- Sterilite Container
- 500g Weight
- 100g Weights (x2)
- 50g Weights (x2)
- 20g Weights (x2)
- Hook for Weights
- Stopwatch
- Balance
- 500g Weight for Balance
- Meter Stick
- Catch box with styrofoam and foam inside

¶ Instructions
- Place all materials listed above at each lab station.
- Place the 500g weight for the balance next to the balance, so that students can easily find it and don’t try to use it with the rotational motion apparatus.
- Mount the super pulley onto the front of the rotational motion apparatus and align it with the string coming off of the apparatus so that the string is straight. Place the rotational motion apparatus near the edge of the lab table so that when the string hangs off of the pulley it falls to the ground and does not hit the table.

4. Place the catch box on the ground under where the string will hit the ground, so that when the heavier masses are attached to the hook, it will not crash into the floor. (See catch box page for how to make the catch box.)
5. Check the stopwatches and replace batteries if necessary. See stopwatches page.

¶ Replacing the String
The string should be cut from the fisherman's string on top shelf of C4. The line should be ~135cm and when fully set up should allow the weight stand to touch the catch box laying on the ground. To set up the end of the string on the Rotational Motion apparatus, we need to tie a slip know around the metal knob next to the 3 holes in the center of the appartus. Below is a tutorial for tying a slip knot:
The String needs to be lead through the 3 holes and then tied into a loop knot at the end.
