More detailed information on the storerooms can be found on the Storerooms Page
The most important thing to know is that all of the physics 6 series equipment is kept in the trailer T942. More specifics summaries are below.
Additionally, the main spares cabinet is 1010-C2. This should house most of the spares and stuff for 6AL. We also try to keep some of the extra sets of equipment with original group of equipment in the cabinet where it is normally stored. There are some optics spares for 6CL in 1010-C3. Lastly, there are some spares 1020-C4 and 1020-C5 for 6CL.
Everything for this class should be in 1010. Most of the equipment is stored in the cabinets on the west wall, 1010-C3, C4, & C5.
Nearly everything for this class is stored in 1020. At the time of writing, everything is in the cabinets on the west wall, 1020-C1, C2, & C3. The balances are in 1010-C3.
Everything for this class is stored in 1020, less some spares. The optics benches are stored in 1020-C3 on the west wall, everything else for this class is stored in the cabinets on the east wall, 1020-C4 & C5.
The stuff for these classes is diistributed about 3324, 3332, 4231, and 4239 of Broida Hall.
We try to keep most of the spares for this class in 4239 on the top shelves of the racks. Additionally there are a few spares for 3L,4L, and 5L in 3332-C6. Finally, there are some 5L spares in the 3324-C3.
The location of the equipment for this course is a bit confusing. Because this class happens on two different floors, we have a double set of some equipment for this lab. In winter quarter Physics 3L happens entirely in 3332 so we keep a full set of equipment for the labs there. In the fall quarter, the class size is so large that half of the class happens in 4231 and the other half in 3332. Therefore we have roughly half of the equipment in 4239. I say roughly, because some of the equipment has not yet been double and we need to bring it upstairs from 3332.
Lastly, we keep the pendulum rods that we use on the 3rd floor in 3324-C2.
The location of the equipment for this course is a bit confusing. Because this class happens on two different floors, we have a double set of some equipment for this lab. In spring quarter Physics 4L happens entirely in 4231 so we keep a full set of equipment for the labs there. In the past, in the winter quarter, the class size is so large that half of the class happens in 4231 and the other half in 3332. Therefore we have roughly half of the equipment in 3332. I say roughly, because some of the equipment has not yet been double and we need to bring it downstairs from 4239.
It should be mentioned though, that in winter 2022, Paula was able to squeeze all of the students into 12 sections Monday-Thursday. Thus, we only needed one room for that quarter. This means we might not need to store equipment in 3332 in the future.
Also, if any optics benches are needed for 4L in 3332, they can be found on 3324-R1.
The equipment for 5L is held in two rooms. Most of the equipment is on the 3324-R1, R2, & R3 and 3324-C3. The Nuclear lab and some of spares are held in 3332-C6.
Equipment for this series can be a bit complicated. It often times shares much of the same equipment for the 345-series, and thus most of the equipment can be found in the same places, following similar patterns.
There are a couple of special places to point out though that has equipment dedicated to this series.
Firstly, 3324-C1 has equipment that can be grabbed and used at anytime by the TA's or students. It is mostly electronics type equipment. We can also put it out when needed.
3332-C2 is equipment used particularly for 20CL in the spring. It has a bunch of the commonly used project equipment.
Lastly, 4239-R
